Don’t Launch Digital Campaigns Until You Are “Web Ready”

Your website is the one of the first things your clients will see and should serve as a strong foundation for your digital marketing campaign. If your website is a mess, then why bother using email and direct mail to push leads and customers? Clearly, this won’t help you gain new business. Before starting your email marketing campaign, make sure your website is clear and focused by following these strategic guidelines.

1.

Declutter Your Website
Make sure your website is "decluttered" and not bogged with heavy graphics or features that don’t = work, such as empty login areas, especially if there is nothing to log into! Your job is to KISS (keep it simple stupid), to make it as easy as possible for your clients to gather any information they need from the website

2.

Direct Users to a Landing Page
Create a landing page to direct recipients to your email campaign. For example, once your readers click on a link from your advertisement or newsletter, they should be routed to your landing page for more information, to register for an event, fill out a survey or purchase your product. Well crafted landing pages have stronger conversion rates than simply directing your viewers to a random section on your website.

3.

If You Don’t Use It - Lose It
Make sure you include only the necessary features needed to run your website. Don’t add any bells or whistles that are irrelevant to your site. This may include undeveloped sections, theme music, or other needless distractions. Streamlining your website will make it more accessible and efficient for viewers.

NEW SECTION THIS MONTH I RECOMMEND:

Welcome to an all new section of Dispatch, where every month I choose a different business to recommend. As the VP of a very well established B2B networking group in Boston, I have the unique ability and privilege to connect people with various services that they may need to help run their business more effectively.

While the majority of our clients have been very fortunate to have not yet been affected by the downturn in the economy, we do know that it is starting to make its way through the "Business Community" at large. These days, making sure you have as many competitive edges as possible is crucial to staying on top of your competitors and industry.
