The Last Meeting was held on June 26, 2007.
The meeting, as usual, went extremely well. It
started off with a welcome to 5 new members (Amanda
Novelline, Ed McHugh, Alex Mathew, Andrew Wolf&
Steve May)
and continued on to the usual introduction of
guests, followed up by members.
A Quick Notice was made to the new members that
$100.00 dues were due (payable to Jeff Garr)
immediately and renewable on January 01, 2007
There was a brief
discussion / reminder about the importance of
one-on-ones. Members, and guests alike are strongly
encouraged to call, email, meet for lunch and make
sure to communicate on a regular basis outside of
the network128 meetings.
Jeremy, Jim and Jeff discussed the importance of
members taking active roles in the growth and
ongoing success of Network 128.
Here are 7 different
ways members can get involved.
1. Volunteer to get involved
2. Invite Guests
3. Send In Information on your company
4. Share downloadable publications from work
5. Send in email addresses.
6. Forward this email to a friend
7. Add a website link in your email signature
Alex Matthew from Direct IT Corporation offered to
showcase his document scanner for paperless office
solutions at the next meeting and will be our guest
speaker.
Jim Stoller suggested that
Network 128 members have an evening out on July25th
for appetizers and adult beverages! members are
encouraged to bring a guest (preferably a
professional associate). there has been some initial
discussion about whether some of the dues funds will
be allocated towards this event and also if we will
try to generate some revenue by charging a small fee
for non members to attend, which is typical practice
by other local networking groups
who host social networking events.
Today's guest speaker was Ernie Brown who shared his
wisdom on alternative financing solutions. For more
information about Ernie and alternative financing,
please visit his website at
Because of the late voting and the trouble we have
had in getting members to use the online voting
system it has been decided that going forward new member voting will go through Jeff
Garr. Voting will be the standard 1-5 votes and when
a new candidate is up for vote they should be sent
directly to Jeff with your choice. This way we can
more easily track who is voting.
We
continue to remind and encourage members to use our
website. Please post frequently on our message
board. It is a very nice system and members who have
used it seem to like it. Its a great way to send a
lead or a thank you to a member or just simply keep
open some lines of communication.
